Notable 2009 Highpoint Completions

John Mitchler discussed notable completers in 2009 during the Highpointers Convention in New Jersey. Among the completers was an 81-year-old man plus John also completed all the U.S. territories.

Many thanks to John Mitchler who has spent countless hours working on the table for the 50 completers.

Here’s the list that is updated every year and is released in this years 2008 Highpointers Club Directory as a suppliment to the newsletter “Apex to Zenith”  by the newsletter editors in Colorado.  This directory comes out with the 2nd Quarter issue of the newsletter each year and is included in the members dues.

Mario Locatelli Headstand Featured in Official McKinley Climbing Report

Mario Locatelli in Official 2004 Denali Climbing ReportMario Locatelli, an avid Highpointer from Montana, who became the oldest (71 years and 6 months young) to summit Mount McKinley, was featured in the Official McKinley Climbing Report for 2004.

Incidentally Denali was Mario’s 50th state completion. You probably recognize these, now famous, summit headstand poses.
