Cool Places to Visit at Highpointers.org
Highpointers Merc - Buy guidebooks, patches, t-shirts, souvenirs from your highpoints adventures. Jean Trousdale has done a spectacular job! You’ve simply got to get one of our calendars!

Join the Club for Only $15 a Year! - There are some privately owned states you are required to be a member to visit (the owners want well behaved visitors!). You get 4 of the coolest newsletters ever seen each year and be eligible for our patches, pins and plaques (YOU MUST BE A MEMBER TO GET THEM!). And of course you will be contributing to the well being of our state highpoints. Membership Guy Craig Noland has been doing this for 10 years from his cabin in the Smokies. Why don’t you drop by?

Private and Public Property Restrictions - Visitations to privately owned Rhode Island and Illinois are restricted to just a few days each year. Privately owned North Dakota and Nebraska charge for visits. Kentucky wants you to sign a waiver in case you fall down a mine shaft. New York and Vermont have voluntary restrictions during the Spring snow melt. Alaska, California and Washington want advance reservations. Highpointing ain’t as simple as it used to be. Visit our access restriction section.

2005 Highpointers Convention Over Labor Day Weekend at Mount Washington - The Highpointers Convention will be over Labor Day near Mount Washington. Since a huge number of highpointers live in the Northeast it is shaping up to be a big convention. We’ve already had the most early reservations ever! You can even make your reservations now with a credit card!
USA Highpoint Info
List of U.S. State Highpoints - This site has been maintained by Roger Rowlett of americasroof.com fame for almost 10 years. We are in the process of updating state information from a club perspective (e.g., liaisons, etc.). However for a simple list of the highpoints visit americasroof.com.

Can’t find what you’re looking for in the new website? — We’re converting the whole site to a blog rss2 format (using Wordpress). The site will be instantly updatable and you can follow any topics via rss feeds. This is a volunteer organization and the process is targed to be completed by mid-April 2005. If there is something specific you would like to see or can’t see either drop me an email and I will probably change it right away. Or you can visit our forum and post your comment. Also note that in the new blog format it is much easier to allow volunteers have access to the site. If you want like to help with the site let me know. If you don’t like the site’s appearance be patient! We’re moving to a template base. We can change that later!

Masthead Photo
I am going to rotate photos in and out of our masthead. The current photo is of Charles Mound, Illinois, during the 2003 Highpointers Convention.

Google is the better search engine for this site.
I’m still learning the ins and outs of the new blog. The default search engine on the right only searches data that has been moved to the blog. I’m trying to figure a way to replace it with the google search which catches everything on site for 10 years!

Kyle Cummings Eagle Project Transforms Indiana’s Hoosier Hill

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Kyle Cummings on Indiana Highpoint
For the past few years Hoosier Hill had been a bit forboding. The summit in a clump of woods was down an overgrown trail. You took your life in your hands climbing a broken stile over a fence. And you always risked getting stuck in the mud when you pulled off the road.
