Highpointers Club is a 501-c-7 Club

Wednesday, July 28th, 2004

The Highpointers Club is a 501-c-7 club which means it is a non-profit social organization. Donations ARE NOT tax deductible as we do not have a 501-c-3 charter. The Club is headquartered in Golden, Colorado, and registered with the state of Colorado.

There has always been a debate about obtaining the 501-c-3 status so the Club could pursue more aggressive fund raising for “good works” at state highpoints. The Board has felt that the more stringent IRS and fund raising efforts would undermine our goal to provide an outlet for those pursuing the highpointing hobby. If you are interested in working towards a 501-c-3 educational status please contact Dave Covill.
