Jakk Longacre Plaque Unveiled for Missouri Memorial

A bronze plaque honoring club founder Jakk Longacre was unveiled at the 2005 convention in New Hampshire.

The plaque is to be afixed to a stone on a 9.44 acre park on Russell Mountain on the County Road CC approach to the Taum Sauk summit.

Stony Burk secured the plaque on a design submitted by Jean Trousdale.

Jakk had intended the land to be used for a museum. However, this is probably not practical as there are staffing and budget issues. The land currently belongs to Jakk’s daughter Lorrie Krontz but she has decided she would abide be her father’s wishes to donate it.

The Club is currently working to make sure it has adequate liability coverage before formally accepting it.
