Britton Hill (FL) Rises to the Occasion as 2027 Highpointers Convention Host

Highpointers Club membership selects Florida’s Britton Hill, the nation’s lowest state highpoint, for its 2027 convention.

In a vote of its membership, the Highpointers Club has chosen Florida as the host of its 2027 Convention. Members from across the country will convene at Britton Hill, Florida’s highest natural point, to celebrate community, exploration, and the pursuit of visiting all 50 state highpoints.

At 345 feet above sea level, Britton Hill in Walton County holds the distinction of being the lowest state highpoint in the United States. Located in Lakewood Park near the Alabama border, the site features a monument, picnic facilities, and short wooded trails. Though modest in elevation, Britton Hill offers a unique chapter in the highpointing journey, reminding members that every state’s summit carries significance.

This decision reflects the spirit of the Highpointers Club–every highpoint, whether it’s Denali at 20,310 feet or Britton Hill at 345 feet, deserves to be honored. This will be the club’s first Convention in the Sunshine State.
